Report on Tohoku Earthquake in Northern Japan
On March 11, a strong earthquake hit Northern Japan. OSG would like to express our deepest sympathy to people whose lives are affected by the earthquake and the tsunami.
OSG would like to hereby confirm that all employees of OSG Corporation and its group companies are safe and that our production facilities experienced no damages and are in operation today.
Our sales offices in Northern Japan, specifically Sendai Office, Koriyama Office, and Ibaraki Office are temporarily closed until we ensure safety.
OSG would like to thank those who have expressed their prayers and well thoughts not only for OSG but for the Japanese people. We sincerely thank you.

- The epicenter of Tohoku Earthquake is exactly 600km away from OSG’s Headquarter and its factories.
- OSG factories are located 410km away from Tokyo Electric’s nuclear power plants in Fukushima.
- OSG factories are not affected by the planned power outages because OSG factories are in a different grid. OSG receives its energy from Chubu Electric.
- The customs at the Narita International Airport is not fully operational.
